Student work done with Carol Panaro-Smith & James Hajicek
The workshop premise was The Alternatives to the Traditional Alternatives and aimed to give the students a different perspective on working with photographic materials through the relinquishing of both control and intentions. The students worked with imagery from old books and magazines, as well as using found objects to create their compositions in a very uncontrolled and playful way. The workshop was an excellent exercise in showing the students the wonders of letting serendipitous occurrences manifest themselves in their art-making process and to let the universe, as Carol and James put it, show them something.
